Animation is achieved by playing a series of images fast enough that objects appear to be moving. Images can be created with any draw program and saved in "GIF" format. Of all the different software applications that can compile different images into an animation we will use Paint Shop Pro's companion program Animation Shop. Animation Shop has a lot of nice features that will automatically build frames in an animation given a start and a finish frame and your instructions.

Animations are a tricky balance of the number of frames (fewer frames = choppier animation) and the length of time to download them (more frames = longer download time).
